Steve grew up in the Hampton Roads area. He attended William & Mary where he met Melinda and graduated with a BS in Chemistry. After a successful career in the corporate world Steve entered Union Theological Seminary graduating in 2005 and was called to Providence Forge Presbyterian Church as our Pastor. He and Melinda have one daughter, Elizabeth.

Sue Anne was born and raised in New Kent County and grew up at PFPC. She has served on the session and worked with the youth group. She teaches Sunday School and is moderator of Presbyterian Women. Sue Anne enjoys horseback riding, gardening, and reading.

Organist / Choir Director - Email Melody Raef

Melody got her first church music job at the age of 13 playing piano for St. Patricks Catholic Church in Richmond, VA. While attending VA Commonwealth University to study music education, she was hired by PFPC to be the new choir director/organist in 1992 and has been here ever since. She teaches middle and high school chorus full time for West Point Schools. She completed a Masters of Music Education Degree from VCU in 2005. She is married to David and has two amazing children, Madison and Samuel.

Sunshine Nursery School Director - Email Cathy Davis

Cathy moved to New Kent County in 1968 as a freshman at New Kent High School and married life-long resident Vin Davis in 1973. They had three children, Brian, Amy, and James. She became affiliated with Sunshine Nursery School when her youngest son, James attended in 1992-1994. Cathy has worked at Sunshine Nursery School since 1994 and became Director in 1996, a position she still enjoys today. She stays busy in her spare time with her three grandchildren, Ellie, Cal and June.

This position is elected by session annually to provide the essential maintenance services for the church building and grounds and maintain security of the premises. The Sexton provides coordination with routine contractors for maintenance services as required, as well as the long range planning of needs for the church infrastructure.

The session guides our congregation; however, the Commonwealth of Virginia requires trustees on matters of church property, real or personal. To this point, in 2009 Providence Forge Presbyterian Church Corporation replaced the Board of Trustees, with powers described in our Book of Order (G-7.0402). All was done with the understanding that the corporation acts on the buying, selling, and mortgaging of real property only after the approval of the congregation, as explained in our Book of Order (G-8.0500). As for the officers of the corporation, the president of the corporation is both an active elder and on session while in office, the secretary of the corporation is the current clerk of session, and the treasurer of the corporation is also the treasurer of the church.
