Pete Adamson - 2007-2012 Oversight Committee Elder Co-Chair
Pete is a lifelong Virginian and Presbyterian. He has been a member of PFPC since moving to New Kent in 1989. Pete was elected to the session in 2007 and is Elder Co-Chair of the PTP Oversight Committee with Ellen Davis. Pete works for the USDA Farm Service Agency. Pete and Margaret have been active with Sunday School and youth group activities. In his spare time Pete coaches youth shooting sports, enjoys hunting and woodworking.
Tom Ballou - 2010-2012 Nominating Comittee
Tom and his wife Lisa joined PFPC in 1991 upon relocating to Providence Forge from New Jersey. He and his family moved to Williamsburg in 1997, but still call PFPC home. Lisa has served 3 terms on the session, Tom is beginning his first and chairs the Nominating Committee. Tom works for the Virginia Department of Environmental Quality in Richmond. Spare time is occupied by their two busy sons’ many activities including football and Lacrosse, and singing in both the church choir and the Williamsburg Choral Guild.
Gilda Black - 2008-2010 Good Samaritan Chair
Gilda became a resident of New Kent County at the age of 5. She has been involved with PFPC for a number of years joining the church with her husband and 3 children in 2003. She teaches Sunday School and is involved with youth programs. Gilda now chairs the Good Samaritan Committee having been elected to the session in 2008. Gilda works with her brother, Jerome, in the auction business, and with Dr. John Monacell, a local orthodontist.
Kenneth Evans - 2006-2011 Outreach Committee Chair
Kenny is a life-long resident of the area. Kenny and Cindy joined PFPC in 2005. Kenny was elected to the session in 2006 and chairs the Outreach Committee. Kenny owns Evans Construction Company, is an Ex-Master of Princess Anne Hunt Club, is a past Rotarian President and helped create the New Kent Rotary. In his spare time he enjoys hunting, fishing and family.
Howard Gammon - 2010-2012 Building & Grounds, Corporate President & Sexton
Howard and Janette moved to the area in 1959 and are the parents of three. Howard first served as a Deacon, teaches Sunday School and is now serving his 10th term on the Session. Howard owns Gammon Well, is on the board of PF Rec Center, a PF Ruritan, renown for his Brunswick Stew and bountiful vegetable garden and he also enjoys golf.
Dwight Johnson - 2006-2011 Planning & Finance Chair
Dwight grew up in the Richmond area and retired from Philip Morris after 29 years in engineering and maintenance. Dwight, and his wife, Rocket, joined PFPC in 2004. He was elected to the session in 2006 and chairs the Planning and Finance Committee. Both Dwight and Rocket are active in many areas of our church life. In his spare time Dwight is active throughout the community and loves golf, golf, golf.
Gary Larochelle - 2009-2011 Nurture Committee
Gary is a father of four, a retired Naval officer, and a current Dominion Power employee. He and his wife, Kara, moved to New Kent County in 2000, joined PFPC in 2005, and was elected to the session in 2009. He chairs the new Nurture Committee. In his spare time he enjoys family time and household projects.
Ron Lang - 2010-2012 Worship Committee
Ron and his late wife, Lorraine moved to the county in the late 60’s and has been a member of PFPC since 1991. Ron is the father of 4 daughters, and has nine grandchildren. Ron has managed a boat marina, worked for Chesapeake Corp., Nabisco, Anheuser-Busch, AT&T and since retiring in 1995 he is now Project Manager for a Williamsburg construction company. He served one term as a Deacon and is now serving his 3rd term on the session and chairs the Worship Committee. Ron has also been active in various community organizations and committees and enjoys fishing and spending time with his grandchildren.
Martha Martin - 2006-2011 Christian Education Committee Chair
Martha moved to New Kent County with her family in 1974. She worked with Sunshine Nursery School until teaching full time and has taught Sunday School throughout the years. Martha was elected to the session in 2006 and chairs the Christian Education Committee, and the Scholarship Committee. In her spare time she tutors students and is involved with NK Stagehands.
Lydia McGrady - 2010-2012 Stewardship Committee Chair
Lydia and her husband, Joel moved to Providence Forge in 2006 after his retirement from the military. Shortly after moving, Joel was diagnosed with cancer and died. Through the years, Lydia has been wife, Army wife, mother, daughter, grandma, teacher, Girl Scout Leader and volunteer in other positions. This is Lydia's first term on the session and chairs the Stewardship Committee. She enjoys being outside, working in the yard and golf.
John Phelps - 2005-2010 Policy & Personnel Committee Chair
John and his wife, Sharon, moved to the area in 1990 and joined PFPC in 1991. John was elected to the session in 2005, serves as Clerk of Session, and chairs the Policy and Personnel Committee. John is retired from the FAA where he was an Aviation Safety Inspector. He now teaches courses for inspectors at the FAA Academy in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, on a part time basis. In his spare time he enjoys spending time on his boat and traveling.
Jim Wallace - 2008-2010 Fellowship Committee Chair
Jim is a life-long resident of New Kent County and grew up in PFPC. He and his wife, Diane, have three children - two sons and a daughter. Jim works for Colonial Soil & Water Conservation District, a division of Virginia Association of Soil & Water Conservation Districts. Jim was elected to the session in 2008 and chairs the Fellowship Committee. In his spare time he coaches little league baseball and enjoys spending time with his family.
Session meets for dinner at 6 PM, the meeting begins at 7 PM on the first Wednesday of the month at church.
